Facts about India
India is today one of the fastest growing developing countries in the world. In three to four years, the country has had a growth rate of 7-9%. In recent years, the Indian pharmaceutical and biotech companies have expanded on the market, which has not only resulted in a higher turnover but also a higher cash flow. Since 2005, when India signed the TRIPS agreement, companies in India have begun to accept the product patent instead of method patents. Higher cash flows and profits are important factors that make India not only ready to increase their investments in R&D, but they also have their eye on developed economies to seek acquisitions, partnership, investment opportunities and joint development with companies abroad. Sweden is at the forefront and invest in attracting attention from the Indian pharmaceutical and biotech companies. This has led to the earnings of Swedish companies in the form of increased investments and partnerships. The presentation will focus on opportunities in India for Swedish companies how companies can take advantage of these opportunities.
